We are Julia & Florian, the founders of the Retreat Oasis Portugal – a special oasis we created with a lot of heart for families like yours.
As parents of a wonderful 8-year-old daughter, we know exactly how challenging it can be to juggle family, job, hobbies, and the daily chaos of life – without losing sight of yourself or the others.
From experience, we know that it can sometimes be difficult to find real quality time with loved ones. We have experienced for ourselves what a difference mindful communication, recognizing and naming needs or feelings makes in dealing with children and partners. Hallelujah! 😉

Surrounded by majestic eucalyptus trees, palms, and its own vegetable garden, the Retreat Oasis Portugal offers a quiet, idyllic atmosphere. Here you will find everything you need for deep relaxation: a yoga deck, a creative atelier, and a massage tent, which are ideal for your daily time-out. The garden invites you to relax, read, and reflect with hammocks, a meditation spot, and a beautiful ambiance.
Where you stay: The Retreat Oasis Portugal offers families spacious, private units that are ideal for a break in the middle of nature. Each accommodation has a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, a terrace for relaxing and for shared meals outdoors. Stylishly furnished and equipped with modern amenities such as heating and air conditioning, the units offer high comfort all year round. Where does the Family Retreat take place?
This special one-week retreat for families takes place at the Retreat Oasis Portugal. The Retreat Venue is located in the Colares region of Sintra, just 35 minutes away. Driving distance from Lisbon. 3 beaches are within walking distance.
When does the retreat take place?
The 2025 family retreats take place from Sunday to Sunday. It starts on Sunday at 6:00 PM (arrival possible from 4:00 PM). The retreat ends on Sunday at 11:00 AM.

Who is the retreat for?
This retreat is aimed at families who want to treat themselves to 8 days of family quality time and want to get to know valuable tools to master everyday family life with even more joy, serenity, and ease. The goal is to return to everyday life strengthened, relaxed, and nourished on all levels after this week-long retreat.
This retreat can also be attended by one parent with children.
Can I also participate without a partner?
Of course, you can also participate in the retreat as a single parent with your children.
For maximum recovery and connection, however, it is optimal if 2 adult companions are traveling with the children. Feel free to bring grandma or your best friend.
Patchwork families are also very welcome.
If you as a mom with children know another mom with children, for example, you can also participate in the retreat together like one big family.
What age of children is the retreat suitable for?
The optimal age for children participating in the Family Retreat is from 5 years. The workshops and activities are exclusively adapted to the age of the children so that our young guests feel really comfortable and addressed and experience maximum joy. If the children are under 4 years old, a loving babysitter can be booked for the core workshop times (in the morning) for an additional charge. This allows both parents to participate in the program points with full attention. Alternatively, you are of course welcome to bring grandma/grandpa/friend as a “babysitter” or split the workshops as parents while one parent looks after the child under 4.
Can I participate without children?
The retreat is structured so that families and their children are the target group. If you are interested in a retreat at the Retreat Oasis as a single parent without children, we recommend looking at our Retreats. Feel free to contact us personally as well.

Can I cook for myself?
All units have a fully equipped kitchen. You are of course welcome to cook your own meals there at any time.
A varied breakfast is included on the retreat days (Mon-Sun). Two dinners (Sun and Sat) and the do-it-yourself pizza evening are also included.
Is the food kid friendly?
We love children and have learned from our own experience that children have very different tastes.
In addition to culinary delicacies and mindfully chosen food that experience shows children enjoy, there will also be the option of “plain” pasta, homemade roasted sweet potato, rice, and plain wraps as a child alternative at the included dinners.
At the Vitality breakfast brunch, there will also be freshly prepared porridge, fruit, cereals like cornflakes, chocolate pops, muesli, bread, croissants, toast, butter, jam, etc., especially for our young guests.
As an alternative to cow’s milk, there is rice drink, almond milk, or oat milk.
If you or your family members traveling with you have food intolerances, gluten intolerance, or allergies, or prefer vegan food – please inform us in good time.
What are the cancellation conditions?
- A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.
- The remaining balance of 70% is to be paid by the day of arrival.
- If canceled more than 45 days before the start of the retreat, the deposit can be used for another retreat or date at Retreat Oasis Portugal. You will then receive a credit for the non-refundable deposit, which can be redeemed with the next booking. If the booking is canceled within 45 days before the start of the retreat, the deposit cannot be refunded.
- To protect against unforeseen cancellation events on the part of the retreat participants, we recommend taking out private travel insurance.

Do I need a rental car?
At the Retreat Oasis Portugal, you can look forward to a great infrastructure. Cafes, restaurants (fish, pizza, sushi, burger, pasta), sunset bar, supermarket as well as bus and tram stops are reachable in less than 10 minutes on foot.
The beaches are just a few minutes’ walk away.
Uber and Bolt services are available in our area and are widely used.
